March 9-12, 2020

Hello Room 4,

What a great week we had last week. We had student nurses from MRU visit us on Friday to lead a project on resiliency that we completed with our grade 6 buddies.

Here is what to expect this week to come:

Math

  • Exploring subtraction strategies.
  • What is the connection between addition and subtraction?
ELA
  • Beddington Heights next top youtuber (procedural writing activity) students are writing instructions for a 'how to' video which they will later film using the Ipads (not actually using youtube).
  • Spelling lists sent home (social/science vocab words)
  • Skippy frog reading strategy 
Science
  • Adaptations/insulators for hot and cold
  • Experiment involving blubber to come later this week
Social Studies
  • Language and traditions of Inuit people
Health
  • What is responsibility- Pillar of the month connected
Art
  • Finishing soap stone carvings.
