The Invisible String
Hello Room 4,
I have dropped off a bracelet kit in mailboxes, on doorsteps or in front yard fences for your student. Instructions are included to make your own special bracelet. Each bead represents a member of our class. The string represents the invisible bond that keeps us together even when we are apart. Wear your bracelet when you are missing your friends or school. I have one too! ♡
Looking forward to continuing our learning journey together after spring break! Enjoy your break and check the grade team website or Learn Alberta for resources for the time being.

Hello Room 4,
Please keep an eye out for the delivery of a special item to your homes and enjoy the read aloud posted below:

I just wanted to reach out to let you know that you and your students' presence in the school is missed. Every day as I am walking past the shoe rack, I am feeling sad that the shoes remain on the rack all day. I know that this is an uncertain time for us all, we are learning to live life in a new way.
Each day this week has been a learning experience for myself and I'm sure for you and your child as well. Although we may not be able to be together physically right now, please remember, we are still a community.
Please let your child know that they are in my thoughts and that I am committed to maintaining the classroom community we have created during our time apart.
Please keep an eye out for the delivery of a special item to your homes and enjoy the read aloud posted below:
Wishing you all health & well being.

Friday March 13
What a busy week!
This week we finished writing and filming our procedural writing videos. We also did an animal research project and started subtraction.
Today we did a polar bear ice challenge using blubber to see how long we could keep our hand in cold water wearing 'blubber mitts' vs no mitt. This helped us learn how Polar bears insulate themselves to survive the cold temperatures in the Arctic.
We also joined our grade 6 buddies for a movie connected to our Responsibility pillar of the month.
Unfortunately some students have been using inappropriate language in the classroom, please have a discussion with your child regarding this issue, as we are trying to resolve it before it becomes a bigger issue.
Also, please let your child know not to share popcorn money sent to school, this has caused a number of disagreements between student this past week.
Reminders:
